Libel case closed against 'SCTV'<\/p>\n
YOGYAKARTA: A defamation case between Gadjah Mada University
\neconomist Revrisond Baswir and SCTV has been closed, after the
\nformer publicly apologized on Monday to the private television
\nstation.<\/p>\n
On May 13, the broadcaster reported Revrisond to Yogyakarta
\nPolice for allegedly defaming it.<\/p>\n
\"On this occasion I openly apologize to SCTV because the
\nproblem ... merely resulted from my misunderstanding and mistakes
\nin using television articulation,\" he said, without elaborating.<\/p>\n
The lecturer denied that he had an intention to make any
\naccusation against or to discredit the broadcaster.
\n\"Therefore ... I rectify my statement that was considered to have
\ndiscredited SCTV.\"<\/p>\n
The libel case started when Revrisond was invited to speak on
\na recorded talk show later broadcast on March 3, along with State
\nMinister of National Development Planning Sri Mulyani Indrawati,
\nto discuss the pros and cons of the government fuel price-rise
