        "content": "<p>South Korean technology giant LG Electronics posted its highest-ever\npreliminary earnings for the second quarter of 2026, according to a\ncompany statement on Tuesday. Preliminary operating profit surged 146.9\nper cent from a year earlier to 1.58 trillion won in the April-June\nquarter. Preliminary revenue rose 14.9 per cent to 23.83 trillion won in\nthe quarter. Both revenue and profit marked the highest figures for a\nsecond quarter in the company\u2019s history. LG explained that the record\nwas achieved as the company\u2019s core businesses, such as home appliances\nand televisions, experienced increased sales amid a rise in air\nconditioner sales in overseas markets, which offset concerns stemming\nfrom uncertainty in the Middle East.
