Dear Sir\/Madam,<\/p>\n
I am a student at Ipeka Christian Bilingual School. My name is
\nKarina Andin, grade 8. I want to share a personal experience.
\nLast week, my family and I went to Plaza Senayan. I live in West
\nJakarta, so it is quite far. It took about one hour because there
\nwas a traffic jam. Everywhere I go in Jakarta, there are traffic
\njams, even on the highways.<\/p>\n
Traffic jams all over Jakarta are big problems. As the
\ncitizens, we hate this. Jakarta is a high population city, so
\nwherever you go, there're traffic jams. People are bored about
\nthis thing.<\/p>\n
Traffic jams are caused by many things. First, they're caused
\nby the big population in Jakarta. They're also caused by the
\ncitizens that don't obey the rules and there are so many cars
\nhere. The citizens that don't obey the rules can cause car
\naccidents.<\/p>\n
If it can be fixed, we will be so happy and tourists will
\ncome. This will help to improve our economy in Jakarta, and also
\nin Indonesia.<\/p>\n
As we know, there are several steps that the government and
\nthe citizens can take. At least, it will reduce the traffic jams.<\/p>\n
For us, as the citizens, we can do the little things, such as
\nobeying the rules. Children can help too. We must teach our
\nchildren to obey the rules, like crossing the road at the zebra
\ncrossing and many other things. These things will help them to be
\ngood and responsible citizens.<\/p>\n
The government has taken many methods to control the problem.
\nThe government has made good rules, built the highways and
\ncontrolled the population. Those are good things, but there are
\nsome things that can be improved still further.<\/p>\n
In controlling the population, the government must control the
\npeople that want to urbanize Jakarta. Those people want to have a
\nbetter life in Jakarta, but when they arrive, they get nothing.
\nThe government has built the busway, but the buses aren't good
\nenough and there is crime. The government has to improve the
\ncondition of the buses and the security, and also ask people to
\nuse the busway.<\/p>\n
Many people think that these are too great and complicated,
\nbut I think the government and the people of Jakarta can do
\nthese. Just start from the little things and do it step by step.
\nThese will take years, but at least it can reduce one big problem
\nin Jakarta.<\/p>\n
The cost to repair the buses and improve the security is
\nexpensive, but the government can think of many simple methods to
\ncontrol the price, such as repairing the oldest buses or many
\nother things. There are things that you must sacrifice to produce
\nother things.<\/p>\n
I understand that I have asked you, the citizens, and the
\ngovernment so many things. I only want to say what solutions that
\ncan fix the problem. I want to share my opinions with all of you.
\nI hope that all of you will understand and consider my proposals
\nseriously. Thank you for your attention.<\/p>\n
