        "content": "<p>The Deputy Speaker of the MPR RI, Lestari Moerdijat, emphasised that\ntransparency and the effectiveness of the National Single Socio-\next{Economic} Data (DTSEN) validation process are crucial to bridging\nthe gap between the state\u2019s ambition for accurate data and the risk of\nvulnerable communities losing access to assistance. This was stated in a\nwritten statement on Thursday (10\/9).<\/p>\n<p>According to Lestari, popularly known as Rerie, the current\ncontroversy surrounding the DTSEN update is triggering significant\nchanges in welfare decile rankings. Consequently, a number of poor and\nvulnerable citizens risk losing their rights to social protection\nprogrammes due to shifts in data status that do not reflect real-world\nconditions.<\/p>\n<p>The government has established the DTSEN as the single database for\nall social protection programmes in Indonesia. The scale of this data is\nmassive, covering hundreds of millions of individuals across the\ncountry.<\/p>\n<p>Rerie highlighted numerous complaints from members of the public who\nare clearly living in hardship but have been placed in higher welfare\ndeciles. This inaccurate decile placement automatically severs their\naccess to much-needed social assistance.<\/p>\n<p>As a solution to data inaccuracy, the government has provided a\ndispute mechanism for the public. The member of Commission X of the DPR\nRI encouraged citizens to be proactive in using available digital\nchannels to ensure the validity of their welfare status.<\/p>\n<p>However, Rerie emphasised that the existence of such applications\nmust be accompanied by ease of access and massive, easy-to-understand\nsocialisation. Without strong public outreach, the wider community will\nstruggle to evaluate their status independently.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEvery development policy must have clear targets, be based on\nmeasurable data, and be capable of being evaluated openly so that the\nresults can prosper all Indonesian people,\u201d concluded the NasDem Party\npolitician.<\/p>",
