        "content": "<p>As tourist interest in visiting Karimunjawa increases, beach\ncleanliness has become a challenge that must be consistently addressed.\nThis was emphasised by Deputy Speaker of the People\u2019s Consultative\nAssembly (MPR) Lestari Moerdijat during a public aspiration event themed\n\u2018Environmentally Sound National Development\u2019, which was combined with a\ncommunity beach clean-up in Karimunjawa Village, Karimunjawa District,\nJepara Regency, Central Java, on Sunday (21\/6). \u201cThe arrival of tourists\nin Karimunjawa does not only bring income for residents, but also\ndemands the responsibility of all parties to maintain the cleanliness of\nthe environment,\u201d said Lestari. In addition to the beach clean-up,\nRerie, as Lestari is affectionately known, together with Jepara Regency\nDPRD Deputy Speaker H. Pratikno and environmental activists, released\nturtle hatchlings on the beach, which was named Pantai Lestari Ceria. At\nthe inauguration of the beach\u2019s name, Rerie expressed her hope that\nPantai Lestari Ceria would not only serve as a tourist destination but\nalso as an educational site to ensure the environment in Karimunjawa\nremains sustainable. Karimunjawa Village Head Arif Setiawan, who is also\na tourism operator, in his remarks supported the role of Pantai Lestari\nCeria as an environmental education centre. He noted that besides\ngenerating income for the community, the beach\u2019s beauty could also\nprovide villagers with an understanding of the importance of preserving\nthe beauty and environment of Pantai Lestari Ceria in Karimunjawa\nVillage.
