Legislators star in HIV\/AIDS ads<\/p>\n
JAKARTA: Some legislators participated in the shooting of
\nvideo advertisements about HIVAIDS on Wednesday. The ads also
\nfeatured actress Nurul Arifin, while the shooting location was
\nthe House of Representatives (DPR) compound.<\/p>\n
Deputy House speaker Muhaimin Iskandar of the National
\nAwakening Party (PKB) and legislators Surya Chandra Surapaty of
\nthe Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI Perjuangan),
\nplus Simon Patrice Morin and Mariani Akib of Golkar were
\nenthusiastic during the shooting.<\/p>\n
Shooting was disrupted when some cars passed by, prompting the
\ndirector to retake a scene several times.<\/p>\n
Surya said that by participating in the ads, legislators
\nwanted to show their concern on the spread of HIVAIDS in the
\ncountry.<\/p>\n
At a rough estimate, 80,000 to 120,000 Indonesians are either
\nHIV-positive or living with AIDS, but official data from Sulianti
\nSaroso hospital, which specializes in HIV\/AIDS cases, records
