To avoid any criticism that members of the House of
\nRepresentatives receive salaries for doing nothing, allow me to
\nsuggest that the system of remuneration be changed as follows:
\n1. The monthly take-home pay of a House member will be made up of
\ntheir monthly remuneration (fixed), the fee for attending a
\nmeeting, the transportation fee for attending a meeting and a
\nhealth allowance (with a ceiling).
\n2. The monthly take-home pay of every House member is essentially
\nthe same, with the exception of those holding structural
\npositions, such as a House speaker, a commission chairman, a
\nfaction chairman and so forth, and therefore entitled to an
\nallowance for a structural position.
\n3. As a House member gets into the House as a member of a
\npolitical party taking part in a general election, he or she
\nshould not be treated as an employee in a company and should not
\ntherefore be entitled to a monthly salary and a pension.<\/p>\n
Hopefully, this system of remuneration will always encourage
\nHouse members to shoulder their responsibility as people's
\nrepresentatives and realize that the remuneration they receive as
\na House member is really the people's money.<\/p>\n
