        "content": "<p>Legislators receive Rp 450m reward<\/p>\n<p>MATARAM, West Nusa Tenggara: The provincial administration<br>\nhere has decided to award Rp 10 million (US$1,500) each to local<br>\nlegislators who will end their short term in August.<\/p>\n<p>Provincial secretary Arfah Muzahar told Antara the local<br>\ngovernment allocated Rp 450 million from the province's budget<br>\nfor the 1999\/2000 fiscal year for the cash rewards.<\/p>\n<p>The provincial legislature comprises 45 representatives of<br>\nparties who contested the 1997 elections and military and police<br>\nappointees.<\/p>\n<p>Arfah said the legislators deserved the rewards because of<br>\ntheir hard work and cooperation with the executives while serving<br>\nthe two-year term. Among achievements were some memorandums and<br>\nregulations.<\/p>\n<p>The next legislature will see 49 representatives of parties<br>\nwho contested the June 7 polls and six military and police<br>\nappointees.
