Legislators must voice the truth<\/p>\n

Rallies have been held recently at and around the House of
\nRepresentatives\/People's Consultative Assembly compound. As a
\nlayman, I only hope that these rallies do not disrupt the process
\nof representative democracy that we pursue.<\/p>\n
I would like to suggest that the supporters of President
\nAbdurrahman Wahid convey their aspirations to House members from
\nthe National Awakening Party's faction as they represent his
\nsupporters in the House, and also that those demanding that he
\nstep down should meet the legislators from the Reform faction or
\nother factions nurturing similar aspirations.<\/p>\n
As for the House leaders, they must decide which of them will
\nmeet the people's representatives wishing to convey their
\naspirations. Care must be taken to ensure that a group of people
\nnurturing a particular aspiration will be received by legislators
\nhaving a different aspiration. Then let argumentation prevail
\ninside the House without any outside pressure.<\/p>\n
Ralliers must convey their aspirations politely to show that
\nwe are educated. Those failing to behave politely must be denied
\nentry.<\/p>\n
As for the legislators, they must not be affected by any
\noutside pressure. They must speak what they think is the truth
\nfor the sake of improving the life of the nation and the people.<\/p>\n
