Legislators, mind your p's and q's<\/p>\n

It's sad to observe the things that have been happening in
\nIndonesia of late. The President, elected through a relatively
\ndemocratic general election compared with previous ones, had to
\nface a forced interpellation. It's true that he has made many
\nconfusing and even controversial statements. However, the fact
\nthat he received such an extremely politicized admonition
\nindicates that the members of the House of Representatives (DPR)
\nno longer have any respect for, and no longer show any good
\nmanners, to the elected president. This also indicates that they
\ndo not have any respect for themselves.<\/p>\n
It is indeed a pity that they, the representatives of the
\npeople, have such an attitude. They should demonstrate perfect
\nmanners and attitude at all times, including when they are
\nfighting for their own interests and for those of their groups.
\nThey should under no circumstances prioritize the interests of
\ntheir parties and thus neglect the nation's interests.<\/p>\n
I wonder if they would have a better conscience if they
\nthought objectively and did things fairly? Can't they understand
\nthe phrase \"the people's representatives\"? A representative is
\nsomeone chosen or elected to speak for and on behalf of the
\npeople. I believe we all agree that the people are tired of
\nlooking at and hearing about conflict after conflict. When will
\nthe conflict come to an end? Only after the country has been
\ndestroyed and there is nothing left to rebuild? When many other
\nAsian countries are busy strengthening the basis of their
\neconomies, Indonesia is busy breaking itself to pieces. This is
\nindeed a pity!<\/p>\n
