        "content": "<p>A number of visually impaired individuals in Denpasar, Bali, continue\nto work independently as massage therapists to meet their daily living\nneeds. I Ketut Kariyasa Adnyana, a member of Commission VIII of the\nIndonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), believes this situation\nhighlights the importance of equal economic opportunities for persons\nwith disabilities.<\/p>\n<p>Kariyasa stated that visual impairment should not act as a barrier\nfor individuals with disabilities to work and contribute to society.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI highly appreciate the spirit of our visually impaired brothers and\nsisters who continue to work, remain independent, and do not give up on\ntheir circumstances. Our presence today is a manifestation of\nsolidarity, showing that they are not alone and remain an important part\nof society that deserves attention and support,\u201d he said in a statement\non Monday (31\/08\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>The PDI Perjuangan politician assessed that support for persons with\ndisabilities should not be limited to social assistance alone. They also\nrequire access to develop skills and earn an independent income.<\/p>\n<p>According to Kariyasa, persons with disabilities should be positioned\nas members of society who possess the capability to work and be\neconomically empowered, rather than being viewed solely as recipients of\naid.<\/p>\n<p>As a member of Commission VIII of the DPR RI, which oversees social\naffairs, Kariyasa considers equal opportunities for persons with\ndisabilities to be a vital aspect of inclusive development.<\/p>\n<p>He expressed hope that support for the visually impaired could help\nmeet their needs while strengthening their motivation to continue\nworking and creating.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHopefully, this togetherness provides not only material benefits but\nalso strengthens the sense of brotherhood and social care within the\ncommunity. Because, in truth, human values will always grow when we care\nfor and strengthen one another,\u201d he added.<\/p>",
