        "content": "<p>The Speaker of the Jakarta Regional Legislative Council (DPRD), Suhud\nAlynudin, supports the plan by Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung to open\n2,800 job opportunities through a Labour-Intensive Programme (Program\nPadat Karya). The programme is regarded as a concrete step towards\nreducing unemployment rates amidst a challenging economic climate.<\/p>\n<p>Suhud stated that the Labour-Intensive Programme needs to be\nimplemented immediately so that its benefits can be directly felt by\nthose in need of employment. \u201cIt is a good proposal. It is very\nbeneficial amidst a difficult economic situation where unemployment is\nhigh. It deserves support,\u201d Suhud said in a statement on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, efforts to expand job opportunities have become an\nurgent necessity in Jakarta. Consequently, the DPRD supports the Jakarta\nProvincial Government\u2019s efforts to broaden employment opportunities for\nresidents through this programme.<\/p>\n<p>Suhud also proposed that the Labour-Intensive Programme be integrated\nwith the Internship Programme currently being promoted by the central\ngovernment. The synergy between these two programmes is believed to\naccelerate labour absorption, particularly for the productive age group\ncurrently seeking work.<\/p>\n<p>However, he cautioned that the implementation of the Labour-Intensive\nProgramme should not focus solely on urban arrangement and improvement\nworks. He noted that many other sectors possess significant potential\nfor labour absorption, such as the creative industry and various other\nsectors.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung planned to create 2,800\njobs through the Labour-Intensive Programme as an effort to expand\nemployment opportunities and assist the public in facing economic\npressures.<\/p>\n<p>Suhud Alynudin also committed to strengthening legislation and\nsynergy with the Jakarta Provincial Government to realise Jakarta\u2019s\nvision as a global city. He noted that Jakarta\u2019s fiscal condition is\ncurrently facing significant pressure, with development budgets\nexperiencing deficits and a reduction in Revenue Sharing Funds\n(DBH).<\/p>",
