"summary": "A member of Indonesia's House of Representatives Commission III, Abdullah, has called on the National Police (Polri) to crack down decisively on illegal beauty clinics and the circulation of counterfeit cosmetics, which continue to proliferate across various regions. He emphasised that perpetrators should face multi-layered legal charges under several laws, including the Criminal Code, the 2023 Health Law, the 2004 Medical Practice Law, and the 1999 Consumer Protection Law, following the recent charging of a former Puteri Indonesia 2024 finalist in Riau for health-related crimes. Abdullah stressed the need for comprehensive enforcement from upstream to downstream, inter-agency collaboration with bodies like BPOM and the Ministry of Health, and enhanced consumer education to prevent further harm, underscoring the state's duty to protect citizens from material losses and permanent injuries.",
