        "content": "<p>JAKARTA \u2014 A member of Commission III of the Indonesian House of\nRepresentatives, Abdullah, has urged the National Police to conduct a\nthorough investigation into the acid attack against Andrie Yunus, an\nactivist with the Commission for the Disappeared and Victims of Violence\n(KontraS).<\/p>\n<p>In addition, Abdullah called on law enforcement authorities to\napprehend the perpetrator and uncover the motive behind the attack.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe attack on Andrie Yunus not only threatens the personal safety of\nthe victim, but can also be understood as terror against democratic\nspace and civil liberties,\u201d Abdullah said when contacted on Friday, 13\nMarch 2026.<\/p>\n<p>This principle, he noted, is guaranteed under Article 28E(3) of the\n1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia and Law Number 39 of 1999\non Human Rights.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, Abdullah called on the Witness and Victim Protection\nAgency (LPSK) to immediately provide protection to the victim and his\nfamily.<\/p>\n<p>He also urged the National Human Rights Commission (Komnas HAM) to\nconduct monitoring and independent investigation to ensure that the\nhandling of the case proceeds objectively and with accountability.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, such an act constitutes a serious crime.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI strongly condemn the acid attack against KontraS activist Andrie\nYunus.
