        "content": "<p>Jakarta \u2013 Abidin Fikri, Deputy Chair of Commission VIII of the\nIndonesian House of Representatives, stated that Saudi Arabia has not\nyet provided official clarification regarding postponement of the 2026\nhajj pilgrimage.<\/p>\n<p>He noted that the geopolitical situation in the Middle East continues\nto be closely monitored following the outbreak of conflict between Iran,\nIsrael, and the United States.<\/p>\n<p>Abidin expressed that Commission VIII of the House of Representatives\nremains optimistic that 2026 hajj preparations will proceed smoothly as\nplanned. He emphasised that there has been no formal prohibition notice\nfrom Saudi Arabian authorities, as occurred during the Covid-19\npandemic.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe in Commission VIII continue to oversee 2026 hajj preparations\ncomprehensively, including regulatory, technical, and financial aspects,\nas well as planned readiness carried out by the Ministry of Hajj and\nUmrah,\u201d Abidin stated in his remarks on Wednesday (11 March 2026).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe public is asked to remain calm because there are no indications\nthat conflict will disrupt the holy areas of Mecca and Madinah,\u201d he\nadded.<\/p>\n<p>He claimed that Commission VIII of the House of Representatives is\ncommitted to conducting strict oversight to ensure that the 2026 hajj\npilgrimage services are enhanced and conducted safely and comfortably\nfor all prospective Indonesian pilgrims.<\/p>",
