Democratic Party (NasDem) Commission III member of the House of\nRepresentatives Rudianto Lallo responded to the case of an acid attack\non Andrie Yunus, Deputy Coordinator of the Commission for the\nDisappeared and Victims of Violence (KontraS), by unknown perpetrators\nin the Salemba area, Central Jakarta. Rudianto condemned the act.<\/p>\n
\u201cCertainly we are concerned and condemn this act. We condemn the\nincident of acid being poured on an activist,\u201d Rudianto told journalists\non Friday (13 March 2026).<\/p>\n
Rudianto also urged police to dismantle the case. The perpetrator and\nthose behind it must be arrested.<\/p>\n
Additionally, the motive for the acid attack must be revealed to the\npublic. \u201cThis acid attack is a criminal act. An act of violence that\ncannot be justified for any reason whatsoever,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n
For him, the perpetrator should not be allowed to go free, as it\ncould pose a threat to anyone.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis acid attack is certainly a form of aggravated assault,\u201d\nRudianto stated.<\/p>\n
The acid attack allegedly occurred on Thursday (12 March) around\n11:30 pm on Salemba Street, Senen District, Central Jakarta. Police are\ncurrently investigating the case as suspected aggravated assault.<\/p>\n
Investigators are currently conducting investigation procedures,\nincluding examining the crime scene and collecting digital evidence such\nas closed-circuit television (CCTV) recordings. So far, two witnesses\nhave been questioned, and this number may increase as the investigation\ndeepens.<\/p>\n
Andrie Yunus\u2019s condition is dire. He suffered burns to his face,\nchest, and hands.<\/p>\n
Police Guarantee Thorough Investigation<\/p>\n
The Indonesian National Police guarantee the case will be thoroughly\ninvestigated. Police have checked CCTV footage and questioned several\nwitnesses.<\/p>\n
\u201cOn this occasion, we should convey that the National Police Chief,\nas the leader of the Indonesian National Police, has given special\nattention to the handling and investigation of this case,\u201d said National\nPolice Public Relations Division Head Major General Johnny Eddizon Isir\nat National Police headquarters, South Jakarta, on Friday (13 March\n2026).<\/p>\n
Isir stated that the case is being handled by the Central Jakarta\nPolice. He mentioned that Metro Jaya Police and the Criminal\nInvestigation Directorate are also assisting to accelerate the\ninvestigation of the case.<\/p>\n
\u201cFurthermore, as a follow-up to the attention and direction given by\nthe National Police Chief, the handling conducted by the Criminal\nInvestigation Unit of the Central Jakarta Police Station receives\nsupport from both Metro Jaya Police and the Criminal Investigation\nDirectorate, particularly from colleagues at National Police\nheadquarters,\u201d said Isir.<\/p>\n
