        "content": "<p>PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or KAI has sold 3,799,365 train\ntickets for Lebaran transportation. KAI Vice President of Corporate\nCommunication Anne Purba stated that this figure reaches 84.5 percent of\nthe total 4,498,696 seats provided for the period from 11 March to 1\nApril 2026.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe trend of mudik travel by train continues to increase since\nmid-March,\u201d she said in a written statement on Saturday, 21 March\n2026.<\/p>\n<p>The latest number of tickets sold was recorded at 10:00 WIB today.\nThe sold tickets are for long-distance train travel and local train\nservices.<\/p>\n<p>Long-distance train ticket sales reached 3,292,121 or 92.2 percent of\nthe total 3,571,760 seats provided. There are still 279,639 tickets\navailable that can be booked by the public for the return flow.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, for local train services, ticket sales recorded 438,203 or\n47.3 percent of the total 926,936 seats available. There are still\n488,733 seats remaining. Local train ticket sales will increase closer\nto the departure date as they can only be booked a minimum of H-7 before\ndeparture.<\/p>\n<p>Anne said that during the mudik flow period from 11 to 20 March 2026,\nKAI has served 1,695,218 long-distance train passengers and 302,561\nlocal train passengers on Java and Sumatra. \u201cOverall, this totals\n1,997,779 passengers,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p>Several trains with high booking rates during the 2026 Lebaran\ntransportation period include KA Airlangga, KA Joglosemarkerto, KA Sri\nTanjung, KA Bengawan, KA Kahuripan, KA Rajabasa, and KA Jayakarta. Anne\nexplained that occupancy rates above 100 percent are possible in\nlong-distance train operations due to dynamic travel patterns within a\nsingle trainset.<\/p>\n<p>In a single long-distance train journey, one seat can be used by more\nthan one passenger on different routes. \u201cThis scheme allows the number\nof passengers served to be greater than the number of seats available in\none travel line,\u201d said Anne Purba.<\/p>",
