        "content": "<p>JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The frenzied hunt for train tickets ahead of\nLebaran, known as the \u2018war tiket\u2019, has become a familiar story for a\nnumber of would-be travellers at Pasar Senen Station in Central Jakarta.\nMany passengers say they have to compete with thousands of other\ntravellers when tickets go on sale to secure a seat for the journey\nhome.<\/p>\n<p>One passenger, Fajar Maulana (28), a Jakarta resident, said he had to\ntry repeatedly when taking part in the war tiket for a trip to\nSemarang.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen the sale opened the first time I tried to buy immediately, but\nit sold out instantly. I ended up trying again several times before I\ncould get one,\u201d Fajar said when approached by Kompas.com in the\nstation\u2019s waiting room on Saturday (7\/3\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI set an alarm in the middle of the night so I wouldn\u2019t miss it. If\nyou\u2019re even a little late, it\u2019s usually sold out,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Fajar said the train ticket he managed to buy for that journey cost\naround Rp420,000. He plans to celebrate Lebaran with his family in\nSemarang.<\/p>\n<p>A similar story was shared by another passenger, Fatma (31), a\nresident of Tangerang, who intends to return to her hometown of\nYogyakarta.<\/p>\n<p>According to Fatma, she initially failed to obtain a ticket in the\nfirst attempt due to the high demand from travellers booking tickets\nsimultaneously.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt first I couldn\u2019t get one because it was full straight away. I\ntried again a few days later and it finally worked,\u201d Fatma said.<\/p>\n<p>She said the ticket she bought for that journey was around\nRp380,000.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, another passenger, Rizky Pratama (35), from East Jakarta,\nsaid he had been waiting for the ticket sale opening for a long\ntime.<\/p>\n<p>Rizky, who intends to return to Solo, said he had to compete with\nmany other would-be passengers when buying tickets.<\/p>",
