Post-Lebaran return traffic on H+5 remains elevated, with over 53,976 vehicles heading to Jakarta via the Mohammed Bin Zayed Toll Road, marking a 147.26% increase from normal levels, while outbound traffic from Jakarta saw a modest 20.56% rise to 28,437 vehicles. Indonesian Police Traffic Corps has implemented the second phase of one-way operations from Km 263 to Km 70 on the Pejagan-Cikampek toll to manage the flow, with conditions on the Cipali toll improving significantly. Authorities are evaluating potential extensions of these measures and contraflow implementations to handle anticipated surges, highlighting the critical role of infrastructure planning in managing holiday traffic in Indonesia.

Return traffic on H+5 Lebaran remains high. A total of more than
53,000 vehicles are heading towards Jakarta via the Mohammed Bin Zayed
(MBZ) toll road section.

Based on information received from Jasa Marga on Friday (27/3/2026),
this figure was recorded on Thursday (26/3) or H+5 Lebaran. Jasa Marga
recorded 53,976 vehicles heading to Jakarta via the MBZ Toll, an
increase of 147.26% compared to normal traffic of around 21,830
vehicles.

Meanwhile, in the direction leaving Jakarta, the vehicle volume was
recorded at 28,437 vehicles. This number increased by 20.56% compared to
normal traffic of 23,588 vehicles.

The vehicle volume in both directions indicates that traffic flow on
the MBZ Toll is still dominated by vehicles heading to Jakarta. Compared
to the traffic volume on H+4 Lebaran, vehicles heading to Jakarta
increased from 53,189 to 53,976 vehicles, or up by about 1.48%.

Jasa Marga also noted a downward trend in vehicles leaving Jakarta
via MBZ. On H+5 Lebaran, there were 29,502 vehicles exiting Jakarta,
down by about 3.61%.

One Way Km 263-70

Return traffic to Jakarta is still ongoing at the end of the Lebaran
holiday. The National Police Traffic Corps has implemented the second
phase of one-way operations from Km 263 on the Pejagan Toll to Km 70 on
the Cikampek Utara Toll today.

National Police Traffic Corps Chief Inspector General Agus
Suryonugroho stated that traffic conditions on the Cikopo-Palimanan
(Cipali) Toll are now gradually smooth following the implementation of
one-way.

“Regarding the traffic conditions on Cipali, they are now very smooth
because we have opened the one-way in precise segments for the first and
second phases,” said Inspector General Agus after inspecting the
functional Japek II Selatan Toll in West Java on Friday (27/3/2026).

Inspector General Agus mentioned that overall, today’s return traffic
remains under control. An evaluation of the one-way implementation for
return traffic will be conducted tomorrow.

“For today’s return traffic, it is sufficiently controlled, and
tomorrow we will evaluate again whether to extend the one-way return
traffic or possibly pull it back to Km 414,” he explained.

Inspector General Agus explained that traffic engineering from Km 70
to Km 55 on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll has also been implemented.
Contraflow will be applied if the flow of vehicles heading to Jakarta
increases.

“The contraflow from kilometre 70 to 55 has been enforced due to the
generation of flow from this morning to afternoon and anticipation for
later evening,” he stated.
",
