        "content": "<p>Indonesia\u2019s Minister of Law, Supratman Andi Agtas, has opened the\ndoor to reducing a number of service tariffs within the Ministry of Law\nto as low as zero per cent.<\/p>\n<p>Supratman explained that tariff exemptions can be made through a\nministerial decree, without the need to amend Government Regulation (PP)\nNo.\u00a030 of 2026 on the Types and Tariffs of Non-Tax State Revenues (PNBP)\napplicable to the Ministry of Law.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf any tariff is to be reduced to zero per cent, that can be done\nsimply through a ministerial decree,\u201d Supratman said after the \u2018Pasti\nAda Solusi (PAS)\u2019 event at the Ministry of Law\u2019s Pengayoman Building in\nJakarta on Friday (24 July).<\/p>\n<p>The Gerindra Party politician explained that this mechanism does not\napply to all types of services.<\/p>\n<p>If a tariff adjustment requires an amendment to the Government\nRegulation, the policy must go through further study and be decided by\nthe President.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut if the reduction requires changing the Government Regulation, it\nmust be studied and submitted back for that decision,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Supratman explained that one service certain to be exempted from\ntariffs is the registration of copyright for songs and music. He will\nstudy other sectors, such as fine arts and others.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat is certain to be reduced to zero is the registration of\ncopyright for songs and music,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Separately, Supratman said the Ministry of Law will evaluate the\nincrease in a number of service tariffs that have recently drawn public\nscrutiny.<\/p>\n<p>The evaluation will be carried out through internal meetings with the\nDirectorate General of General Legal Administration (AHU) and the\nDirectorate General of Intellectual Property (DJKI).<\/p>\n<p>One of the services to be reviewed is the increase in tariffs for\nrenouncing Indonesian citizenship and the naturalisation of foreign\nnationals.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will study and review this again, and we will discuss internally\nthe increases in question,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Supratman emphasised that the government will listen to public input\nas part of the tariff policy evaluation process.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn essence, once again, this becomes material for evaluation by the\nMinistry of Law, to hear what the public\u2019s voice is,\u201d he concluded.<\/p>",
