The initial drive launched by President Susilo Bambang
\nYudhoyono to eliminate corruption, collusion and nepotism through
\nthe government's 100-day program has apparently received a
\nserious response from all ministers and law enforcers.<\/p>\n
What is now obvious is that the entire state apparatus is
\ncapable of more arduous work as long as the chief executive shows
\nstrong political will.<\/p>\n
The government is now aware of the need to speedily restore
\npublic confidence as public pessimism about antigraft action
\ngradually turns into optimism.<\/p>\n
This optimism will further increase when several corruptors --
\nalready found guilty and yet still at large -- are immediately
\nsent to prison on Nusakambangan Island.<\/p>\n
If the government's antigraft operation is carried out on a
\nroutine basis and without discrimination, it will earn not only
\npublic support but also international backing.<\/p>\n
The President with the majority of the population behind him
\nwill hopefully have no more doubts about stamping out corruption
\nand corruptors, who are causing the nation to lose millions as
\nthey plunder the public purse for private gain.<\/p>\n
