The President Director of Perum Bulog, Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani, has\nrevealed the latest developments regarding the construction project of\n100 new warehouses, which is part of a strategic initiative to\nstrengthen post-harvest infrastructure. He stated that while the project\nhas not yet entered the construction phase, it is currently in the\ntendering process and is targeted for an imminent groundbreaking\nceremony.<\/p>\n
Rizal noted that the construction of these warehouses is a follow-up\nto directives from President Prabowo Subianto and the Minister of\nAgriculture, Amran Sulaiman. The new facilities are essential to\nanticipate the increase in national rice production.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn accordance with the directives from President Prabowo Subintanto\nand Minister of Agriculture Amran Sulaiman, we are working to realise\nthe construction of 100 post-harvest infrastructure units, specifically\n100 warehouses with full facilities, supplemented by additional leased\nfilial warehouses. We have already mapped this out because the\nMinister\u2019s superior seed programme is extraordinary, with harvest\nestimates potentially exceeding 10 tonnes per hectare,\u201d Rizal told\nreporters in Jakarta on Friday (31\/07\/2026).<\/p>\n
\u201cThis will automatically impact the readiness of warehouses across\nthe entire country,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
When asked about the progress of the 100 warehouses, Rizal confirmed\nthat the process has entered the tender stage. Following this, Bulog\nwill commence construction with a groundbreaking ceremony. The project\nwill span the entire nation, from Sabang to Merauke, with priority given\nto the 3T regions (frontier, outermost, and remote areas).<\/p>\n
However, Rizal noted that the specific location for the first\ngroundbreaking ceremony is still awaiting instructions from the\ngovernment, namely from President Prabowo, Minister Amran, and the\nCoordinating Minister for Food Affairs, Zulkifli Hasan.<\/p>\n
Rizal also explained that the acceleration of construction is being\ncarried out in accordance with a Presidential Instruction (Inpres).\nConsequently, the work will be conducted through a limited tender\ninvolving State-Owned Construction Enterprises (BUMN Karya), with the\ntarget of having some warehouses completed by December this year.<\/p>\n
\u201cFollowing the Inpres, we are using the directive because\nacceleration is requested. The hope is that by December, some will be\nfinished. We are using a limited tender for BUMN Karya, so the work will\nbe handled by BUMN Karya,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
He reaffirmed that by December 2026, the warehouse project and\npost-harvest infrastructure should be completed and ready for use.<\/p>\n
