The joint SAR team has expanded the operational area\nafter previous sweeps over the last two days failed to locate the\ngroup.<\/p>\n<p>Not only has the search area been enlarged, but the fleet strength\nhas also increased. The search now involves several Indonesian Navy\nwarships and extends into the waters of Lampung as a precautionary\nmeasure in case the group was carried away by currents.<\/p>\n<p>Here are the latest facts regarding the search for the five missing\njournalists in the Sunda Strait, as compiled on Thursday, 10 September\n2026:<\/p>\n<ol type=\"1\">\n<li>Search expanded to the northern side of Anak Krakatau<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>One of the most recent developments is the change in the search\nsector. After the southern region of Mount Anak Krakatau was swept up to\na radius of approximately 20 nautical miles (about 37 kilometres), the\njoint SAR team began expanding operations to the northern side.<\/p>\n<p>This change in sector was implemented based on calculations of sea\ncurrents, wave shifts, and wind direction. Given these conditions, the\nteam is no longer concentrating solely on the southern sector of the\nMount Anak Un Krakatau area.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"2\" type=\"1\">\n<li>Three Indonesian Navy warships deployed<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Search capabilities have been bolstered by the involvement of three\nIndonesian Navy warships: KRI Leuser-924, KRI Kerambit-627, and KRI\nLepu-861. The deployment of these warships aims to strengthen the\noperation and assist in widening the sweep across the Sunda Strait\nwaters.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to these three vessels, other Indonesian Navy elements\nare also supporting the search, including KAL Anyer I.3-64, RHIB Peucang\nfrom Lanal Banten, and KAL Siaga from Lanal Lampung.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"3\" type=\"1\">\n<li>Sweeping has reached dozens of nautical miles he search has been\nconducted across a very vast area.
