        "content": "<p>Kendari (ANTARA) - The Language Development and Cultivation Agency of\nthe Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) and Bank\nIndonesia (BI) Southeast Sulawesi (Sultra) are strengthening literacy\nenhancement through the role of Language Ambassadors in safeguarding\nIndonesian language sovereignty while boosting national literacy.<\/p>\n<p>Head of the Language Development and Cultivation Agency\nKemendikdasmen, Hafidz Muksin, in Kendari on Saturday evening, expressed\nappreciation for the enthusiasm of the youth in the region known as\n\u201cBumi Anoa\u201d, who competed in the 2026 Language Ambassador selection\nevent.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe role of youth in nation-building is vital. This nation is built\non the spirit of the Youth Pledge, where they took the initiative to\nmake Indonesian the language of unity. These finalists are the\nsuccessors to that spirit,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He mentioned that the selected Language Ambassadors have four main\nmandates aligned with the Trigatra Bangun Bahasa motto.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThirdly, they are motivated to continue preserving regional\nlanguages as our cultural wealth. And finally, encouraging them to\nmaster foreign languages to engage in the global world,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n<p>Deputy Head of BI Sultra Representative, Thathit Suryono, revealed\nthat his side continues to strengthen synergy with the Sultra Language\nCentre to communicate various policies through a language and culture\napproach.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLanguage is a bridge of communication. This aligns with Bank\nIndonesia\u2019s mission in communicating policies such as Cinta Bangga Paham\n(CBP) Rupiah, financial literacy, inflation control, and consumer\nprotection,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He explained that the Language Ambassador finalists, who have\nundergone rigorous selection, are projected to become BI\u2019s strategic\npartners in socialising economic policies.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the future, we will develop programmes such as Consumer\nProtection Ambassadors or CBP Rupiah Ambassadors. We also plan to create\neducational media in the form of stories or children\u2019s folktales themed\naround the rupiah using various regional languages in Sultra, besides\nWakatobi and Wolio languages,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Acting Head of the Education and Culture Department (Dikbud) Sultra,\nAris Badara, affirmed the commitment to encourage positive attitudes\namong students towards Indonesian in school environments.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe continue to encourage children to have positive attitudes, pride,\nand love for Indonesian while adhering to correct language rules,\u201d said\nAris.<\/p>\n<p>He also fully supports students mastering foreign languages as\ncapital to become global citizens, without forgetting the preservation\nof regional languages.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRegional languages are local wealth containing extraordinary values.\nThe Trigatra Bangun Bahasa philosophy, namely prioritising Indonesian,\npreserving regional languages, and mastering foreign languages, must\ntruly be implemented in our education world,\u201d he said.<\/p>",
