        "content": "<p>Land reclamation causes floods<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): The City Council urged the governor yesterday to<br>\nput a halt to PT Cakra Bina Lestari's reclamation project in<br>\nCengkareng Barat, West Jakarta, which is causing floods in a<br>\nnearby housing complex.<\/p>\n<p>The City Council's Commission D, which is in charge of<br>\ndevelopment affairs, said PT Cakra Bina Lestari, a real estate<br>\ndeveloper, has caused floods in the Rawa Bengkel, Pulo Bambu<br>\nLarangan and Bengkulak sub-districts.<\/p>\n<p>Area residents told the commission that the developer<br>\nneglected to build water ducts which could have protected the<br>\nsurrounding areas. The residents added that their areas had never<br>\nbeen inundated by water until the project, designed to reclaim 58<br>\nhectares of swampland for Palm View Garden real estate, was<br>\ninitiated.<\/p>\n<p>The commission stated that the governor should review the<br>\nappropriation permit issued for the developer.
