Police have arrested a motorcycle theft suspect in West Lampung\nRegency. The pursuit unfolded dramatically after one of the perpetrators\nfled by jumping into a ravine.<\/p>\n
The incident occurred in Way Tenong District on Saturday (13\/6). The\nvictim, Asir Rudin (34), initially caught the perpetrators making off\nwith his motorcycle from in front of his house.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe victim saw his motorcycle being taken by the perpetrators\ndirectly. When the victim shouted for help from residents, both\nperpetrators panicked and tried to escape,\u201d said West Lampung Police\nCriminal Investigation Unit Head, First Inspector Rudy Prawira, on\nMonday (15\/6\/2026).<\/p>\n
Two perpetrators were involved in the theft. When their actions were\ndiscovered, the perpetrator acting as executor fled, abandoning the\nvictim\u2019s motorcycle and escaping with his accomplice.<\/p>\n
Upon receiving the report from residents, police immediately set up\nblockades at several points based on the perpetrators\u2019 direction of\nescape. Approximately 15 minutes after the report was received, police\nspotted both perpetrators passing through the Fajar Bulan area. Officers\nthen pursued them to Pekon Simpang Sari, Sumber Jaya District. As\nofficers were about to stop them, both perpetrators fell into a cliff\narea and plunged into a ravine approximately 10 metres deep.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur personnel continued the pursuit even though the perpetrators\nentered the ravine area. This is a form of our commitment to responding\nquickly to any criminal acts that disturb the community,\u201d said Rudy.<\/p>\n
From the pursuit, police managed to arrest a perpetrator named Hendra\nbin Bunyamin, a resident of Tanjung Ratu Ilir Village, Way Pengubuan\nDistrict, Central Lampung Regency.
