        "content": "<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) - Deputy Chairman of Commission VII of the\nIndonesian House of Representatives, Lamhot Sinaga, emphasised that a\nstrong industrial ecosystem must be built from prosperous workers as the\nbackbone of the national economy.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement in Jakarta on Friday, he said that the momentum of\nInternational Labour Day or May Day, commemorated every 1 May, needs to\nbe understood as more than just an annual observance, but as a\nreflection to strengthen justice and balance in industrial\nrelations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWithout strong and prosperous workers, it is impossible to have a\ncompetitive industry,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n<p>As a partner of the Ministry of Industry, according to him,\nCommission VII of the House of Representatives continues to push for the\nindustrial sector not only to grow quantitatively, but also\nqualitatively in treating its workforce.<\/p>\n<p>He emphasised that industrial growth must go hand in hand with\nimprovements in worker welfare. Harmonious industrial relations, he\nsaid, can only be realised if there is a balance of interests between\nemployers and workers.<\/p>\n<p>He added that this principle aligns with the mandate of the 1945\nConstitution in realising social justice for all Indonesian people, thus\nthe industrial world has a moral and constitutional responsibility to\nensure the fulfilment of workers\u2019 rights.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIndustrial transformation must not leave workers behind. The state\nmust be present through training, skill enhancement, and adequate\nprotection,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He assured that Commission VII of the House of Representatives will\ncontinue to oversee industrial policies to ensure they remain supportive\nof the balance between economic growth and workforce welfare, while also\npromoting regulations that support a conducive business climate.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDo not let high growth not be accompanied by worker welfare.
