        "content": "<p>Karawang, West Java (ANTARA) - Indonesia\u2019s Minister of Energy and\nMineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia said the implementation of the B50\nbiodiesel programme could save around Rp170 trillion (around US$9.3\nbillion) in foreign exchange, as it reduces the country\u2019s need to import\ndiesel.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith the implementation of B50, Mr.\u00a0President, we have saved Rp170\ntrillion. So, by moving from B40 to B50, we have been able to retain\nRp170 trillion in foreign exchange reserves,\u201d said Lahadalia at the\nlaunch of the B50 Biodiesel Mandate Programme at the KM 57 Rest Area,\nKarawang Regency, West Java, on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>The figure is higher than the Rp133.3 trillion or around US$7.36\nbillion in foreign exchange savings generated under the mandatory B40\nbiodiesel policy.<\/p>\n<p>Related news: Indonesia rail fleet fully prepared for B50 biofuel\nshift<\/p>\n<p>In addition to saving foreign exchange, the B50 programme is\nprojected to increase the added value of crude palm oil (CPO) from\nRp20.92 trillion to around Rp23.49 trillion.<\/p>\n<p>Besides, the mandate programme of such biodiesel could create around\n2.1 million jobs and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by approximately\n44.46 million tons of CO2 in 2026.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith the implementation of B50, we will no longer import diesel fuel\ninto our country.
