        "content": "<p>Former Chairman of PBNU, Said Aqym Siroj, has welcomed the\nratification of the Labour Protection Law by the Indonesian House of\nRepresentatives (DPR RI) alongside the government. He expressed hope\nthat the regulation would strengthen protection, welfare, and legal\ncertainty for workers in Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>Said Aqil appreciated the government and the DPR for the birth of\nthis regulation. According to him, labour policies must ensure that\neconomic development proceeds in tandem with the protection of\nworkers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI appreciate the government and the DPR RI for the enactment of the\nLabour Protection Law. I hope this law truly strengthens the protection,\nwelfare, and legal certainty for Indonesian workers,\u201d Said Aqil stated\nin a statement received by Republika on Tuesday (6\/10\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>The ratification of the Labour Protection Law also relates to the\nlong-standing attention Said Aqil has paid to worker protection issues.\nDuring his tenure as Chairman of PBNU in 2020, he provided critical\nnotes regarding the Job Creation Law, particularly concerning the need\nfor a balance between investment interests and the protection of\nlabourers and the community.<\/p>\n<p>According to Said Aqil, the views he expressed at that time were\nintended to encourage state policies to provide fair space for various\ngroups of society. He believes that policy improvements must continue in\nline with the evolving needs of workers and the economy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe most important thing is how the state continues to implement\nimprovements and ensures that economic development goes hand in hand\nwith social justice,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Said Aqil expressed hope that the spirit of protection within the\nregulation can be implemented effectively. Implementation is crucial so\nthat the benefits of the policy are truly felt by workers in their daily\nlives.<\/p>\n<p>He also conveyed his hopes to labourers and workers following the\nenactment of the Labour Protection Law. State protection, according to\nhim, must continue to progress alongside efforts to improve worker\nwelfare.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCongratulations to the labour class. May the struggle to achieve a\nmore prosperous and just life continue to receive attention and\nprotection from the state,\u201d said Said Aqil.<\/p>",
