Ahead of the return of the biennial Lab Indonesia exhibition,
laboratories are increasingly regarded as crucial scientific
infrastructure supporting research, innovation, and industrial
development across various sectors. In Indonesia, demand for laboratory
services and technology continues to rise alongside the growth of the
manufacturing industry and various national programmes aimed at
improving production quality, quality control, and compliance with
industry standards.

Currently, there are more than 10,500 public health laboratories
across Indonesia, while the national clinical laboratory market is
projected to reach over US$3.1 billion by 2027.

In this context, Lab Indonesia 2026 will be held again from 15–17
April at Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD City, under the theme
“Shaping the Future of Indonesia’s Laboratory Industry: Innovation,
Standards, and Global Competitiveness”. Entering its eighth edition, Lab
Indonesia has evolved into an exhibition covering the laboratory
industry sector, including medical, pharmaceutical, educational, and
scientific research chemicals.

More than just an exhibition, this event also serves as a strategic
business platform that brings together innovations, discoveries, and
laboratory technologies from various countries to meet the evolving
needs of the industry.

This development aligns with the growth of the global laboratory
technology industry, estimated to increase from US$258.71 billion in
2023 to around US$468.15 billion by 2032. In this increasingly
competitive industrial landscape, collaboration between industry,
regulators, and academic institutions is becoming ever more important to
drive innovation and enhance national competitiveness.

With the relocation to ICE BSD City, Lab Indonesia 2026 will feature
a larger exhibition scale on an area of more than 14,500 square metres,
targeting over 300 participating companies (exhibitors) and around
15,000 professional visitors from various industrial sectors. Four
international pavilions from China, Germany, Korea, and Malaysia are
also scheduled to participate, joined by companies from 16
countries/regions, including the United States, China, Finland, Hong
Kong, India, the United Kingdom, Italy, Japan, Germany, South Korea,
Malaysia, France, Singapore, Sweden, Switzerland, and Taiwan.

Kristi Wulandari, Deputy Event Director of PT Pamerindo Indonesia,
the organiser of Lab Indonesia 2026, expressed optimism about this
year’s event, particularly with the venue change allowing for an
increased scale of industry participation.

“The significant participation of international companies shows that
Indonesia is increasingly viewed as an important market for the
laboratory technology industry. We hope Lab Indonesia can become a space
for collaboration that connects global innovations with the needs of
industry and research in Indonesia,” she stated in a press release on
Thursday (2/4/2026).

The presence of companies from various countries positions Lab
Indonesia as one of the key meeting points for industry players to
explore investment opportunities, expand business networks, and
understand the dynamics of the evolving national laboratory market.

The high interest from international companies is also reflected in
the satisfaction levels of participants from previous editions. “We
believe that the future of Indonesian laboratories is determined by the
ability to deliver accurate, reliable results in line with regulatory
standards, while also improving efficiency and adopting cutting-edge
analytical technologies. Through our participation in Lab Indonesia
2026, we want to demonstrate our commitment to this transformation,”
said Saptogiri, Managing Director of PT Wiralab Analitika Solusindo.
",
