Labor dispute unresolved<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): The city council's Commission E, which oversees
\npeople's welfare, has been unable to track down the owner of PT
\nNusantara Teknik Dimensi Sentosa to address claims made by
\nemployees of the company.<\/p>\n
Last week 34 workers of the company, a heavy equipment factory
\nin Sunter, North Jakarta, said they had been fired for filing a
\ncomplaint with the city council over the Idul Fitri bonus.<\/p>\n
Chairman of the Commission Atje Mulyadi told workers of the
\ncompany yesterday that his commission could not find the house of
\ntheir boss.<\/p>\n
\"We could not find the address and I don't want to give the
\nletter to his office because he might send a subordinate who does
\nnot have the authority to make any decisions,\" Atje said.<\/p>\n
When asked whether the workers knew the address of the owner,
\nthey simply shook their heads and said their boss often moves
\nfrom one place to another.<\/p>\n
The councilor then decided to send a letter to an address that
\nthe workers said housed an employee who knew how to get in touch
