        "content": "<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Judicial Commission (KY) has signed a\nMemorandum of<\/p>\n<p>Understanding (MoU) with the Keraton Kasunanan Surakarta Hadiningrat\nto realise a clean judiciary involving indigenous communities and\ncultural groups.<\/p>\n<p>The signing ceremony took place at the KY Hall in Jakarta on\nThursday, led by the Chairman of the KY, Abdul Chair Ramadhan, and Sri\nSusuhunan Pakubuwono XIV, witnessed by several officials from both\nparties.<\/p>\n<p>KY Secretary General Mulyadi explained that today\u2019s signing is a\nfollow-up to the Chairman of the KY\u2019s recent visit to the Keraton\nKasunanan Surakarta Hadiningrat. During that visit, discussions were\nheld regarding opportunities to strengthen the duties and functions of\nboth institutions, particularly in reinforcing legal culture, ethical\nintegrity, and the socialisation of local wisdom to achieve a clean\njudiciary.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBoth parties have agreed to develop cooperation in the form of a\nmemorandum of understanding,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He noted that the MoU will be valid for three years, with a scope\nencompassing the enrichment of legal literacy and ethics based on\nculture through academic studies and cultural explorations of leadership\nphilosophy, integrity, and traditional Nusantara justice.<\/p>\n<p>The scope of the agreement also includes socialisation and education\nthrough collaborative activities such as seminars, symposiums,\nworkshops, or briefings regarding the Code of Ethics and Conduct for\nJudges (KEPPH) and the role of the KY in realising a clean\njudiciary.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe next scope involves empowering and socialising members of the\nroyal family, indigenous community elements, and the public to respect\nthe judicial process\u2014or court awareness\u2014and to support an independent\njudiciary,\u201d said Mulyadi.<\/p>\n<p>According to Mulyadi, there are four benefits to be gained from this\nMoU. First, it aims to increase public education and awareness regarding\nthe importance of maintaining the honour, dignity, and conduct of judges\nas part of the effort to realise a clean judiciary.<\/p>\n<p>The second benefit is to explore and strengthen ethical values and\nthe indigenous wisdom and culture of the Nusantara that are relevant to\nstrengthening national law and integrity.<\/p>\n<p>Thirdly, the agreement seeks to encourage the participation of\nindigenous communities and cultural groups in supporting the creation of\na judiciary that is clean, maintains integrity, and is trusted by the\npublic.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd finally, fourth, to strengthen synergy and collaboration between\nparties in building a legal culture and increasing collective awareness\nregarding the importance of integrity in the administration of justice,\u201d\nsaid Mulyadi.<\/p>\n<p>He expressed hope that through this cooperation, the synergy between\nthe KY and the Keraton Kasunanan Surakarta Hadiningrat can be continued\nand developed to provide significant benefits to both parties.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThrough cooperation in exploring, preserving, and socialising the\nnoble values of custom, culture, and Nusantara philosophy that are\nrelevant to ethics and integrity, it is hoped that these values can\nsupport the strengthening of character and integrity in national life,\u201d\nsaid Mulyability.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the Chairman of the KY, Abdul Chair Ramadhan, stated that\nthe MoU aligns with the role of the KY as a high state institution\ntasked with realising an independent judiciary.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAn independent judiciary is a primary feature of upholding a\nrule-of-law state based on prosperity,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>In turn, Sri Susuhunan Pakubuwono XIV stated that the MoU is not\nmerely an administrative process, but a connection of value systems\nbetween local wisdom (paugeran) and modern Indonesian law.<\/p>\n<p>He stated that the Keraton Kasunanan Surakarta Hadiningrat stands\nupon the philosophy of meaningful custom, family law, and justice rooted\nin noble character. According to him, justice for the Keraton Kasunanan\nSurakarta Hadiningrat cannot be formed solely through formal legal\ncontexts, but must be supported by a solid ethical foundation, moral\nawareness, and cultural values living within the community.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThrough this MoU, two forces have been brought together: primarily\nintegrity and noble values, integrating the philosophy of Nusantara\njustice\u2014such as the spirit of virtue, honesty, and ethical\nexcellence\u2014into the strengthening of legal culture and the socialisation\nof judicial independence,\u201d he said.<\/p>",
