Yorim Buknoni has been reported to the police over the alleged\nassault of his uncle, Maklon Buknoni (45), which resulted in a broken\nrib. Yorim is the Head of Faumes Village, Amfoang Barat Laut District,\nKupang Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).<\/p>\n
\u201cI have reported this case to the Kupang Police because I suffered a\nsevere assault,\u201d Maklon said when met in Kupang City, NTT, on Thursday\n(2\/7\/2026). Maklon himself serves as the Head of Community Welfare\nAffairs for Faumes Village.<\/p>\n
Maklon explained that the assault occurred after he and Yorim had\nfinished inspecting a water tank facility belonging to Faumes Village on\nMonday (19\/1). Afterwards, they rested and drank coffee together at the\nhome of the Head of Hamlet 3, Faumes Village, Yunius Banu.<\/p>\n
When Maklon was about to excuse himself to go home, Yorim asked him\nto be patient and leave together. Not long after, they began consuming a\nbottle of traditional liquor called sopi. Yorim then asked to buy\nanother bottle, but Maklon refused to continue drinking.<\/p>\n
\u201cI said, \u2018No more, Village Head, because I haven\u2019t even had breakfast\nat all.\u2019 But he forced me to drink, so in the end I drank just one small\nglass,\u201d Maklon recounted.<\/p>\n
\u201cNot long after, I was drunk and asleep on a chair. That\u2019s when he\npunched and kicked me until I fell to the ground,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
Maklon said Yorim continued to punch him in the face twice, hit his\nhead once, and kicked his right ribs until they broke. As a result of\nthe assault, Maklon sustained an injury to his left eye, swelling on the\ntop of his head, and a broken right rib.<\/p>\n
\u201cTo this day, my rib is still broken and very painful. Perhaps at\nthat time, he intended to kill me,\u201d Maklon said.<\/p>\n
Maklon reported the alleged assault to the Kupang Police on Monday\n(26\/1). He also stated that he has given his statement twice before\ninvestigators.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut until now, the perpetrator has not been arrested. I just need\njustice and legal certainty. So, the perpetrator should be arrested as\nsoon as possible to be processed legally,\u201d Maklon explained.<\/p>\n
Kupang Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head, Iptu Helmi Wildan,\nconfirmed the police report filed against the Faumes Village Head.\nAccording to him, the Kupang Police have issued a summons to the\nreported individual, but Yorim failed to appear.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have summoned the reported individual, but he did not attend\n(ignored the summons),\u201d Wildan said.<\/p>\n
