Kuntara named Indocement commissioner<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Major General (ret.) Kuntara, a former chief of
\nthe Army Strategic Reserve Command (Kostrad), was appointed a
\ncommissioner of PT Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa during the
\ncompany's special shareholders meeting here yesterday.<\/p>\n
Andree Halim, an old friend of Soedono Salim, alias Liem Sioe
\nLiong, Indocement's majority shareholder, now sits on the firm's
\nboard of commissioners.<\/p>\n
The board of commissioners of the company, one of the giant
\ncorporations listed on the Jakarta Stock Exchange (JSX), now
\ncomprises Liem, as chairman, and E. Soekasah Somawidjaya, Aang
\nKunaifi, the former governor of West Java, Djuhar Sutanto and
\nJohny Djuhar as members.<\/p>\n
Members of the executive board remain the same, comprising
\nSudwikatmono as the president, Anthony Salim as vice president,
\nand Ibrahim Risjad, Teddy Djuhar, Iwa Kartiwa, Soepardjo, Daddy
\nHariadi, Franciscus Welirang and Benny Setiawan Santoso, all as
\ndirectors.<\/p>\n
Indocement, the largest cement producer in the country, with
\nan annual production capacity of over eight million tons, owns a
\n100-percent stake in PT Bogasari Flour Mills, which has a
\nmonopoly in the wheat flour market.<\/p>\n
Indocement is 42.4 percent owned by PT Mekar Perkasa, a
\ncompany controlled by Liem and his family, 25.93 percent by the
\ngovernment, 12.75 percent by PT Citrabuana Dirgaputri, a firm
\nowned by Sudwikatmono and friends, and another 18.92 percent by
