Tenggarong, East Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The Kutai Kartanegara Regency
Government (Pemkab Kukar) in East Kalimantan is facilitating the
transportation and catering needs of 268 prospective hajj pilgrims from
the region throughout their departure from the regency to their return
to their places of origin. “This transportation and catering service is
a form of respect from Pemkab Kukar to the guests of Allah. We do not
want any technical obstacles to disrupt the pilgrims’ devotion in the
Holy Land,” said Kukar Regent Aulia Rahman Basri in Tenggarong on
Sunday. The 268 hajj pilgrims come from 20 sub-districts in Kukar. Their
departure is divided into two flying groups (kloter), namely Kloter 6
departing on 4 May and Kloter 15 on 17 May 2026. They will be
accompanied by six reliable officials who have been trained and
experienced, consisting of the kloter leader, worship guides, health
personnel, and local hajj officials. During the send-off of the 268th
prospective hajj pilgrims at the Grand Mosque of Sultan Aji Muhammad
Sulaiman in Tenggarong on Thursday (23/4), the regent advised the hajj
officials to serve the pilgrims as if serving their own parents,
emphasising sincerity. “Please pray that Kutai Kartanegara Regency is
always protected by Allah, made a better regency, with its people
increasingly prosperous, and kept away from all calamities. The prayer
from the lips of someone performing hajj is a prayer that pierces the
heavens without barriers,” said Aulia. He continued that one thing that
must be deeply understood is that the hajj pilgrimage is not merely a
physical journey across continents or an ordinary religious tour. “In
essence, hajj is a grand response to Allah’s call, a spiritual journey
that brings the deepest longing of a servant to a direct invitation from
the Creator,” he stated. He also noted that this year’s hajj
organisation feels special because it is carried out based on Law No. 14
of 2025 on the Implementation of Hajj and Umrah Worship. “This
regulatory change is to ensure that the performance of worship is truly
protected, served, and nurtured with better quality than in previous
years. Therefore, I want the pilgrims to focus on just one thing, namely
worshipping as devotedly as possible,” the regent added.
",
