        "content": "<p>Kudus Regency has been declared a safe zone amid the threat of\ndrought that is beginning to affect a number of areas in Central Java.\nThe issue faced by this region on the north coast of Central Java is not\na scarcity of resources, but rather the management of clean water\ndistribution.<\/p>\n<p>Based on monitoring on Sunday (28\/6), the impact of the dry season in\nCentral Java is already being felt by tens of thousands of residents.\nSeveral areas have even implemented a drought emergency status,\nincluding Sukoharjo, Demak, Grobogan, Temanggung, Brebes, Kendal,\nSragen, Tegal City, and Salatiga City.<\/p>\n<p>Data from the Central Java Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD)\nrecorded that 16,258 people, or around 4,808 families, in six\nareas\u2014namely Klaten, Purbalingga, Banjarnegara, Cilacap, Jepara, and\nPurworejo Regencies\u2014have begun experiencing clean water shortages. As a\nresponse measure, 654,000 litres of water aid have been distributed to\naffected villages.<\/p>\n<p>However, a different situation is evident in Kudus Regency. The\navailability of clean water in this area is considered sufficient to\nmeet the community\u2019s needs until the dry season ends. \u201cKudus is not in\nthe drought red zone,\u201d stressed the Head of Central Java BPBD, Bergas\nCatursasi Penanggungan.<\/p>\n<p>Bergas explained that several villages in Kudus which were previously\nprone to drought, such as Sidorekso Village in Kaliwungu District, have\nnow experienced significant improvement. The village is currently even\ncapable of supplying clean water to surrounding areas.<\/p>\n<p>Despite being in a safe zone, anticipatory measures are still being\ntaken. The Kudus Regency Government, supported by Corporate Social\nResponsibility (CSR) programmes from various parties, has prepared\naround 240,000 litres of clean water ready to be distributed should a\nshortage occur at the village level.<\/p>\n<p>Bergas emphasised that the main challenge in Kudus at present is the\ntechnical aspect of distribution. \u201cThe problem in Kudus is not a\nshortage of clean water due to the dry season, but rather distribution\nmanagement,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>He noted that even if some areas experience a shortage, it does not\nmean the raw water source is unavailable. The primary focus must be on\ndistributing water from source locations to the points of need.\nTherefore, the Kudus BPBD is expected to remain alert in responding to\nany requests for clean water drops from residents.<\/p>",
