Kudos for the legislature<\/p>\n
Even as it approaches the end of its term, the House of
\nRepresentatives is earning the public's well-deserved recognition
\nfor doing its best to serve the people's interests and by
\ndemonstrating its commitment to helping bring about good
\ngovernance in this country. This is demonstrated in particular
\nthrough its investigation of the case which has since become
\nwidely known as the Bank Bali scandal.<\/p>\n
We are aware of the urgency of the accumulating tasks and
\nresponsibilities which it has to bear, and it is for this reason
\nthat we have always tried to provide input that may help the
\ngovernment set the right priorities and keep in mind that its
\nfirst and foremost duty is to lead Indonesia toward democracy.<\/p>\n
It is in this context that we call on anyone who is either
\ninvolved or has any knowledge relevant to the Bank Bali case to
\nprovide true information so that a faithful picture of the matter
\nmay be obtained.<\/p>\n
The House of Representative's exertions, however, will not be
\nable to yield the desired results, unless other supporting
\ninstitutions and agencies display the same determined stance and
\ncommitment. Among those institutions, the Supreme Audit Agency
\n(BPK), the police, the public prosecutors' offices and even
\nprofessing lawyers in general are currently in the public
\nspotlight.<\/p>\n
