        "content": "<p>Riau Regional Police, via the Kuantan Singingi Police Resort\n(Kuansing), has continued its crackdown on illegal gold mining (PETI).\nIn operations conducted across two districts, police and the Indonesian\nNational Armed Forces (TNI) destroyed 23 PETI rafts.<\/p>\n<p>Kuantan Singingi Police Chief AKBP Hidayat Perdana emphasised that\nthe enforcement is the Police\u2019s commitment to the rule of law and a\ndemonstration of the Police\u2019s concern for the environment and natural\nresources.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cKuantan Singingi Police and its ranks will continue to carry out\nenforcement against PETI activities. This initiative is a reflection of\nour commitment to safeguard environmental sustainability and enforce the\nlaw in Kuantan Singingi Regency,\u201d said AKBP Hidayat on Saturday, 7 March\n2026.<\/p>\n<p>AKBP Hidayat urged the public not to engage in illegal mining\nactivities and to report to the police if they are aware of PETI\nactivities in their area.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe call on all members of the public to help protect the environment\nand support the law enforcement effort by not carrying out or aiding\nillegal gold mining activities,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Enforcement in the Plantation<\/p>\n<p>The enforcement was conducted by a joint TNI-Polri team together with\nthe management of PT KTBM led by Kuantan Mudik Police Chief AKP Riduan\nButar Butar on Friday, 6 March 2026. The targets were the plantation\nareas in two villages: Pantai Village and Lubuk Ramo Village, Kuantan\nMudik District.<\/p>\n<p>The 16-strong personnel initially combed the PT KTBM plantation at\nPantai Village. There, officers found 15 units of dompeng equipment,\nwhich were immediately destroyed by burning as a deterrent.<\/p>\n<p>Proceeding to the second location, still within the PT KTBM\nplantation in Lubuk Ramo Village, officers found 2 dompeng devices and 2\nunits of stingkai rafts, also destroyed by burning.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, officers secured several pieces of evidence, including\nthree Tianlie machines, two units of keong four, and two complete\nstingkai units. No suspects were found or detained during the\noperation.<\/p>\n<p>Enforcement on Sungai Paku<\/p>\n<p>The operation continued along the Sungai Paku stream, in Sungai Paku\nVillage, Singingi Hilir District, Kuansing Regency. In the operation led\nby the Criminal Investigation Unit of Singingi Hilir Police, Ipda Erwin,\nofficers found 4 PETI rafts in non-operational condition.<\/p>\n<p>The four rafts were destroyed by burning to prevent re-use. No\nsuspects or further evidence were found during this operation.<\/p>",
