President Prabowo Subianto has instructed the Financial System
Stability Committee (KSSK) to enhance coordination, specifically by
involving the Danantara Investment Management Agency (BPI Danantara) in
every policy decision. The directive was issued during a coordination
meeting at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Monday afternoon, just
hours after the resignation of Bank Indonesia (BI) Governor Perry
Warjiyo was announced. The meeting was attended by Acting BI Governor
Destry Damayanti, Financial Services Authority (OJK) Chief Commissioner
Friderica Widyasari Dewi, Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS) Chief
Commissioner Anggito Abimanyu, Minister of Investment and Downstreaming
who also serves as Head of BPI Danantara Rosan Roeslani, and Head of the
State-Owned Enterprise (BUMN) Regulatory Body Dony Oskaria.

Following the meeting, Destry Damayanti confirmed her position as
Acting BI Governor after Perry Warjiyo’s resignation was accepted. She
stated that a definitive replacement would be selected by the President
with the approval of the House of Representatives (DPR) in accordance
with the law. Destry also conveyed the President’s directive for KSSK to
strengthen coordination and cooperation, not only among its members but
also with BPI Danantara. ‘We will jointly support the government in line
with the policy direction that has become the government’s line and
achievements,’ Destry said.

Rosan Roeslani, Head of BPI Danantara, confirmed that KSSK has been
asked to involve Danantara in every decision-making process. He
explained that this involvement is necessary to ensure decisions have a
direct impact on the economy and business, not just from fiscal and
monetary perspectives. Danantara will also participate in monthly
meetings with KSSK. ‘So, it is more about the whole ecosystem; the
directive is for KSSK plus Danantara,’ he stated.

Destry Damayanti also urged the market not to panic despite the
leadership change at the central bank. She assured that BI would
maintain its existing policy stance, with exchange rate stability
remaining a key focus. BI will continue to intervene in the market
through spot transactions, non-deliverable forwards (NDF), and domestic
non-deliverable forwards (DNDF). Macroprudential policies supporting
growth will also be sustained. Furthermore, BI will persist with
measures to encourage foreign capital inflows, including incentives such
as lower hedging costs, as decided in the July Board of Governors
meeting. The leadership transition follows the announcement of Perry
Warjiyo’s voluntary resignation, which was submitted to the President on
Saturday for personal reasons.
",
