Head of the Presidential Staff Office, General (Ret.) Dudung Abdurachman, inspected two kitchens for the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme in West Jakarta and discovered infestations of maggots and rubbish, deeming them unfit for operation. He urged immediate closure unless standards are met, warning of potential food poisoning risks to children beneficiaries and stressing that the programme, funded by public money, must prioritise health and safety over profit. This intervention highlights the government's commitment to ensuring the MBG initiative effectively supports Indonesia's vision for a golden future by 2045 through proper nutrition for the younger generation.

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Head of the Presidential Staff Office
(KSP), General (Ret.) Dudung Abdurachman, found numerous maggots and
rubbish in two SPPG or kitchens for the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG)
programme in Kebon Jeruk and Petamburan, West Jakarta (Jakbar). Dudung
requested that these MBG kitchens be immediately closed if no
improvements are made. Because, if left unchecked, there will certainly
be cases of poisoning affecting the children receiving MBG in the
future. “Yes, I immediately suggested to MBG, BGN, to close them
immediately. There are maggots everywhere, take a look. This is very
close; if not given time soon. If it can’t be fixed, close it
immediately in the near future, that’s what I conveyed,” Dudung said,
quoted from the Kompas TV YouTube broadcast, Tuesday (12/5/2026). “Don’t
take it lightly. Eventually, poisoning occurs, and children become
victims. That’s what we don’t want,” he added. Dudung emphasised that
the two kitchens he raided this morning are not fit to operate. He asked
the foundation head to immediately convert the kitchen to meet the
established standards. “The wastewater treatment (IPAL) also doesn’t
meet the requirements. Then some washing areas, then the room is so hot,
the dry kitchen, dry storage, wet warehouse with dry warehouse are all
in one with one AC. And the washing of vegetables and meat must be
separate, not combined,” he stressed. He affirmed that no one should
merely seek profit from the MBG programme. “And then to ensure food
security, the health of the beneficiaries, and ensure that the children
receiving it truly become healthy. Not just eating for the sake of
profit,” Dudung stated. Meanwhile, Dudung reminded that the MBG
programme is implemented with public funds. Therefore, he said, the KSP
will be open to the public regarding the use of their money for the MBG.
“Whether it truly creates future generations as hoped by the President,
that Indonesia Gold in the future 2045 is created from now on,” he
added.
",
