The Kriyanusa 2026 exhibition has launched in Jakarta, aiming to promote Indonesian handicrafts by merging traditional craftsmanship with modern innovation and technology. Featuring over 250 participants, the event seeks to expand the global market for Indonesian MSMEs and preserve local wisdom through sustainable creativity.

The Chairperson of the Kriyanusa 2026 Exhibition Committee, Ayu Heni
Rosan, stated that the 2026 exhibition aims to encourage the craft
tradition to remain alive while simultaneously evolving through
creativity and innovation.

“Kriyanusa 2026 is here to bring all that richness together with
modern developments. We hope that tradition remains alive, but at the
same time continues to grow through creativity, innovation, technology,
and the ability to read market needs,” said Ayu Heni Rosan during her
opening remarks at the Kriyanusa 2026 exhibition in Jakarta on
Saturday.

Under the theme “Sustainable Craft Creation: Artisans Going Global,”
the Kriyanusa 2026 exhibition, held from 26–30 September 2026 at the
Jakarta Convention Centre (JCC), Jakarta, features 410 booths with 257
participants from various sectors, including the National Crafts Council
(Dekranas), Regional Crafts Councils (Dekranasda), ministries, agencies,
and various community groups, including Indonesian MSME
entrepreneurs.

Kriyanusa 2026 showcases handicrafts made manually or with simple
tools that possess aesthetic, cultural, and traditional value, as well
as specific functions reflecting local wisdom. A wide range of materials
is present at the exhibition, ranging from wood, fabrics such as batik
and woven textiles, metal, leather, weaving, paper, and recycled
materials, to ceramics and clay.

“The diversity of participants illustrates that the craft ecosystem
in Indonesia is built by many parties. Craft is not the property of a
single region or group, but is a shared wealth that we need to nurture,
develop, and promote so that it becomes more widely known both
domestically and abroad,” said Ayu.

In addition to the exhibition, Kriyanusa 202<0xC2>ising
features fashion shows, textile parades, talk shows, awards for the best
booths and potential crafts, workshops, entertainment, and various
digital experiences such as immersive visuals, holograms, and digital
batik.

Through these programmes, Ayu noted, the exhibition intends to
demonstrate that craft and culture can coexist with technology and
innovation. The presence of “holo-textiles,” for example, is expected to
bring the public closer to the philosophy, meaning, and stories behind
the various traditional textiles from across Indonesia.

The Kriyanusa 2026 exhibition also offers a digital batik experience,
providing space for the public to learn about the richness of textile
motifs through a more interactive approach, alongside competitions for
potential crafts and the best booths as part of the effort to encourage
creativity, quality, innovation, and the participants’ ability to
display and market craft products.

Ayu continued that Kriyanusa serves not only as a place to showcase
products but also as a space for learning, interacting, networking, and
creating business opportunities to expand markets.

“We hope that Kriyanusa 2026 can serve as a momentum to further
elevate Indonesian crafts, strengthen public love for domestic products,
open wider market opportunities for artisans, and ensure that the works
of Nusantara Crafts become increasingly recognised and appreciated on a
global level,” said Ayu.
",
