Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Navy\u2019s new warship, KRI Prabu\nSiliwangi-321, has finally docked at Tanjung Priok Port in Jakarta on\nThursday morning, after sailing from the La Spezia Naval Base in\nItaly.<\/p>\n
Upon arrival at Berth 107 of Tanjung Priok Port, the commander of KRI\nPrabu Siliwangi-321, Colonel (N) Kurniawan Koes Atmaja, disembarked to\nreport to the TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis morning, we have just received the arrival of KRI Prabu\nSiliwangi-321, which departed from La Spezia, Italy, to the homeland in\n44 days,\u201d said the Navy Chief of Staff Admiral TNI Muhammad Ali during a\npress conference.<\/p>\n
He explained that the journey of KRI Prabu Siliwangi-321 took\nconsiderable time as it circumnavigated the Atlantic Ocean to the Indian\nOcean before arriving in Lampung on Monday (23\/3) and finally docking in\nJakarta.<\/p>\n
According to Ali, KRI Prabu Siliwangi-321 has the same specifications\nas KRI Brawijaya-321, which was also produced by the Italian shipyard\nFincantieri and has been placed in Koarmada II for several months.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis ship is the second vessel from the Brawijaya class from\nFincantieri, Italy. The condition or status of this ship is almost the\nsame as Brawijaya because it is the same class and type. The equipment\nand capabilities are also the same,\u201d Ali clarified.<\/p>\n
He stated that KRI Prabu Siliwangi-321 will also be placed in\nKoarmada II, Surabaya, East Java.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the Head of the Navy Information Service Admiral TNI\nTunggul explained that KRI Prabu Siliwangi-321 began its first departure\nfrom Italy to Indonesia on 11 February 2026.<\/p>\n
After departing from Italy, the ship made stops in various countries,\nsuch as the Kingdom of Morocco and Nigeria. During the stops, the\ncommander of KRI along with several officers conducted port visits and\ncourtesy calls.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis reflects Indonesia\u2019s commitment to building a modern naval\ndefence force while strengthening friendships with friendly nations,\u201d\nsaid Tunggul, as per the press release.<\/p>\n
He stated that the KRI Prabu Siliwangi-321, which measures 143 metres\nin length and 16.5 metres in width, has conducted tests to strengthen\nits weapons system capabilities and combat readiness before arriving in\nthe homeland.<\/p>\n
The warship is equipped with a main OTO Melara 127-millimetre gun, a\n76-millimetre Strales gun for medium-range air targets, 16 vertical\nmissile launchers for air attacks, Teseo Mk-2E missiles for surface\ntargets, anti-submarine torpedoes, and close-in automatic weapons.<\/p>\n
The Navy believes that the presence of KRI Prabu Siliwangi-321\nreinforces the TNI\u2019s steps in strengthening and modernising the fleet\u2019s\nweapons system, while also demonstrating Indonesia\u2019s commitment to\ndefending and securing maritime areas.<\/p>\n
