        "content": "<p>The Indonesian Navy warship KRI Marlin-877 has successfully evacuated\ntwo survivors from the sinking of the KLM Nurul Salsa 01 in the waters\noff the Selayar Islands, South Sulawesi, on Sunday (19\/7\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>Commander of KRI Marlin-877, Lieutenant Colonel (Navy) Rahmad\nKurniawan Sembiring, confirmed that both victims are now aboard the\nwarship receiving emergency medical care. \u201cThey will then be taken to\nJampea Island, Selayar Islands Regency, for further medical treatment,\u201d\nhe stated in a written release received in Makassar.<\/p>\n<p>The rescue operation began when KRI Marlin-877 was conducting a\nroutine patrol in Sector 3, the area where KLM Nurul Salsa 01 sank. At\n13:30 WITA, the team received information from local fishermen regarding\nthe victims\u2019 whereabouts. Responding to the report, the vessel\nimmediately headed towards Sanipa Island, where the two victims were\nseen moving towards Matalaang Island. The ship arrived at coordinates\n06\u00b050\u2019929\u201dS-118\u00b057\u2019146\u201dE at 14:45 WITA and promptly deployed a boat to\nretrieve the victims.<\/p>\n<p>The two survivors were identified as Jasmal (24) and Nurmiati (35).\nBoth were found alive but in a very weak condition. By 15:30 WITA, the\nvictims had been transferred aboard KRI Marlin-877 to receive first aid\nfrom the ship\u2019s medical team.<\/p>\n<p>According to accounts from Jasmal and Nurmiati, three other\nindividuals remain missing and are feared to have drowned in the\nsouthern area of Sanipa Island. After evacuating the two survivors to\nJampea Island, KRI Marlin-877 resumed its search and rescue operation at\n16:00 WITA. \u201cWe have taken the victims to Jampea Island for further\nmedical treatment, and we are immediately continuing the sweep to search\nfor the three other missing victims,\u201d concluded Lieutenant Colonel\nRahmad.<\/p>",
