The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has expressed appreciation for the court's ruling that found two former Pertamina executives, Hari Karyuliarto and Yenni Andayani, guilty of corruption in the procurement of liquefied natural gas (LNG), resulting in a state loss of approximately Rp 2 trillion. Hari, the former Director of Gas at PT Pertamina, received a 4.5-year prison sentence, while Yenni, the former VP of Strategic Planning and Business Development in the Gas Directorate, was sentenced to 3.5 years for misusing their authority in speculative LNG sales that bypassed landing in Indonesia. This verdict underscores the judiciary's commitment to combating corruption in state-owned enterprises, despite mitigating factors such as the defendants' ages over 60 and lack of prior convictions.

The first matter concerns the LNG case ruling. The KPK conveyed its
appreciation to the panel of judges for finding the defendants, Mr HK
and Mr YA, guilty,” said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to reporters on
Monday (4/5/2026). Through this verdict, the judges are convinced that
both are guilty of committing the criminal act of corruption in the LNG
procurement. Consequently, in this case, the state suffered a loss of Rp
2 trillion. “So, the LNG that had been purchased was resold, without
first landing in Indonesia, but directly sold, thus leading to
speculation-speculation. In that business speculation, it resulted in a
financial loss to the state of around Rp 2 trillion,” he stated. The two
defendants are Hari Karyuliarto (HK), the former Director of Gas at PT
Pertamina, and Yenni Andayani, the former VP of Strategic Planning and
Business Development in the Gas Directorate of Pertamina. Hari was
sentenced to 4.5 years, while Yenni received 3.5 years. The judges
stated that Hari and Yenni were proven guilty of misusing their
authority. The judges declared that the actions of Hari and Yenni in
this case caused harm to the state’s finances amounting to USD
113,839,186.60. Aggravating circumstances in the sentencing of Hari and
Yenni include that their actions were deemed not to assist the
government’s programme in eradicating criminal acts of corruption.
Meanwhile, mitigating circumstances are that Hari and Yenni are each
over 60 years old and have never been convicted before. The judges
declared Hari Karyuliarto and Yenni Andayani guilty of violating Article
3 in conjunction with the Corruption Eradication Law in conjunction with
Article 55 paragraph 1 first of the Criminal Code in conjunction with
Article 64 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code as charged.
",
