While thieves are frequently caught by crowds and beaten
\nblack-and-blue or even burned alive, corruptors who have misused
\ntrillions of rupiah are mostly left unscathed. What about the law
\nenforcers? How should they deal with them? Of course, they should
\nbe dealt with by institutes\/commissions\/committees and the like,
\nrather than the masses.<\/p>\n
Therefore, the more commissions are set up the better, so that
\nif one commission fails to catch corruptors the others will take
\nover the job. As such, commissions like the Public Servants
\nWealth Audit Commission (KPKPN) should not be dissolved. And
\nother anticorruption committees should be established, as long as
\nthey are professional, effective and efficient.<\/p>\n
We are fed up with the rampant corruption since the New Order
\nregime, and the failure to eradicate corruption has been
\ndisappointing, owing to the lack of courage, professionalism,
\neffectiveness and efficiency. In fact, the KPKPN has been
\nrelatively successful.<\/p>\n
Let us all work together to eliminate corruption because it is
\na parasite and our nation has been left behind by other
\ncountries. In 1961 Indonesia was level with South Korea in terms
\nof economic development, while our natural resources were more
\nabundant. But that country has been successful in its fight
\nagainst corruption.<\/p>\n
