        "content": "<p>The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has questioned two\nwitnesses in relation to an alleged extortion case involving the\nappointment of village officials for desa perangkat candidates that\nimplicates Pati Regent Sudewo. Both were questioned because the KPK\nsuspects they were gathering other witnesses to coordinate their\nstatements.<\/p>\n<p>The two witnesses are Sudiyono (SDY), the Head of Angkatan Lor\nVillage, and Noor Eva Khasanah (NEK), the Head of Administration at\nTambakromo Public Health Centre (Puskesmas Tambakromo), Pati. The\nquestioning took place on Wednesday, 4 March 2026.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cInvestigators are examining the witnesses Mr\/Ms NEK, who is a civil\nservant as Head of the TU Subsection at Tambakromo Puskesmas, and SDY,\nwho is the Head of Angkatan Lor Village,\u201d KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo\ntold journalists on Thursday, 5 April 2026.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe investigators are probing the alleged actions by these two\nwitnesses who attempted to gather other witnesses and co-ordinate their\nstatements,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>The KPK considers such actions could hinder the ongoing\ninvestigation. The witnesses were asked to cooperate and provide\ntruthful statements.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor this reason, we urge other witnesses to cooperate, providing\ntruthful and complete statements to investigators during questioning,\u201d\nhe stated.<\/p>\n<p>In this case, the KPK has named four suspects, one of whom is Pati\nRegent Sudewo. The KPK suspects Sudewo charged candidates for desa\nperangkat Rp125-150 million.<\/p>\n<p>That tariff was subsequently increased by his subordinates to\nRp165-225 million for each candidate for desa perangkat.
