The Corruption Eradasting Commission (KPK) suspects members of the\nDPRD in Central Java of serving as intermediaries in an alleged\nextortion cluster involving a police officer stationed at the KPK and\nhis father, targeting the inactive Regent of Pemalang, Anom\nWidiyantoro.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe parties suspected of being the hub or intermediary are those\nwithin the DPRD,\u201d said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo at the KPK Merah\nPutih Building, Jakarta, on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
Consequently, Budi stated that several DPRD members, at both the\nCentral Java Provincial and Pemalang Regency levels, were summoned by\nthe KPK to be interrogated as witnesses in the alleged extortion\ncase.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe extent of their involvement will be investigated thoroughly,\u201d he\nadded.<\/p>\n
On Wednesday (9\/9), the KPK summoned Pemalang Regency DPRD members\nNuryani and Fahmi Hakim for questioning as witnesses in the case.<\/p>\n
The case originated from a sting operation (OTT) conducted by the KPK\non 28 July 2026. One of the individuals arrested during the operation\nwas Anom Widiyantoro.<\/p>\n
On 30 July 2026, the KPK announced the results of the sting\noperation, naming four individuals as suspects in two separate alleged\nextortion clusters.<\/p>\n
The KPK suspects that Anom, through an individual named Haris,\nrequested money from various regional officials and private parties for\npersonal gain. Haris allegedly collected funds totalling up to Rp1.98\nbillion.<\/p>\n
The second cluster involves the alleged extortion of Anom, involving\nSetya Budi Dias Oktavianto and his father, Lilik Budi Suprianto. Setya\nis a member of the Indonesian National Police seconded as an\nadministrative staff member at the KPK.<\/p>\n
The KPK suspects that Setya provided information regarding the\nadministrative processes of case handling to Lilik.
