The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has summoned two new\nsuspects in the alleged corruption case involving the 2023-2024\nadditional Hajj quota for questioning today, Monday (8\/6).<\/p>\n
The two suspects are Ismail Adham, the Operational Director of PT\nMakassar Toraja (Maktour), and Asrul Azis Taba, the General Chairperson\nof the Kesthuri Association and Commissioner of PT Raudah Eksati\nUtama.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn the follow-up investigation of the alleged corruption regarding\nthe Hajj quota for Indonesia\u2019s Hajj pilgrimage for 2023-2024,\ninvestigators have scheduled examinations for Mr ISM, as Operational\nDirector of PT Makassar Toraja (Maktour), and Mr ASR, as Commissioner of\nPT Raudah Eksati Utama and General Chairperson of the Indonesian Hajj\nand Umrah Travel Union (Kesthuri),\u201d stated KPK Spokesperson Budi\nPrasetyo in a written statement on Monday.<\/p>\n
The examinations are being conducted at the KPK\u2019s Merah Putih\nBuilding.<\/p>\n
Previously, on Monday (1\/6), the KPK Deputy for Enforcement and\nExecution, Asep Guntur Rahayu, stated that investigators would detain\ntwo suspects in the Hajj quota corruption case in the near future. He\nnoted that while two individuals from the private sector have been named\nsuspects, they have not yet been detained, though detention is expected\nwithin the coming week.<\/p>\n
The KPK announced the two suspects during a press conference on\nMonday, 30 March 2026. While detention has not yet occurred, the KPK has\nissued a six-month travel ban against both suspects.<\/p>\n
Asep explained that investigators are continuing to gather and\nstrengthen evidence to ensure a robust case for trial. He noted that the\ntiming of detention is critical because the KPK is subject to a\n90-to-120-day limit to complete case files once a suspect is detained;\nexceeding this limit would require the release of the suspects from\ncustody.<\/p>\n
In addition to Ismail Adham and Asrul Azis Taba, the KPK is also\nprosecuting the former Indonesian Minister of Religious Affairs, Yaqut\nCholil Qoumas, and his Special Staff, Ishfah Abidal Aziz (also known as\nGus Alex), in connection with this case. Both Yaqut and Ishfah have\nalready been detained. The KPK is pursuing the case based on charges of\nstate losses, which are estimated to be approximately Rp622 billion.<\/p>\n
