        "content": "<p>The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) conducted a sting\noperation (OTT) against officials from the West Jakarta Immigration\nOffice today. The Director General of Immigration at the Ministry of\nImmigration, Hendarsam Marantoko, stated his support for the KPK\u2019s\nactions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn principle, we fully support the steps taken by the KPK to uncover\nany cases within Immigration, because our presence here for the past two\nmonths has been driven by the spirit of bringing change and conducting a\ncleanup,\u201d Hendarsam told reporters on Wednesday (3\/6\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>Hendarsam stated he is ready to assist the KPK and will not oppose\ninvestigations into immigration offices in other regions. \u201cIf the KPK\nwishes to expand this case to other regions or locations, we are opening\nour doors as wide as possible to the KPK. We fully support what the KPK\nis doing,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He admitted that he does not yet know the specifics of the case that\nled to the arrest of the Head of the West Jakarta Immigration Office and\nothers, noting that he is awaiting further developments from the KPK.\n\u201cRegarding this case, I do not know yet, as information is still\nconflicting. It is said to be related to residence permit issues.\nHowever, which permit, where, and when the incident occurred\u2014whether it\nis recent or from the past\u2014remains unclear,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, the KPK conducted the sting operation against officials\nfrom the West Jakarta Immigration Office (Kanim Jakbar). The arrests are\nallegedly linked to suspected corruption. \u201cThat is correct,\u201d confirmed\nKPK Deputy Chairman Fitroh Rohcahyanto when asked for confirmation on\nWednesday (3\/6).<\/p>\n<p>KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo explained that the operation took\nplace in West Jakarta, as well as in West Java and Bali. A total of over\na dozen individuals were detained, including the Head of the West\nJakarta Immigration Office. \u201cIn terms of progress, over a dozen people\nhave been detained as part of this series of sting operations. Evidence\nseized includes vehicles, cars, motorcycles, as well as cash in the form\nof USD and SGD, and precious metals such as gold,\u201d he stated.<\/p>",
