\u201cThis includes the period when Silmy served as Director General of\nImmigration, as the alleged flow of commands or the flow of money is\nbelieved to have occurred during his tenure,\u201d explained KPK spokesperson\nBudi Prasetyo to reporters at the KPK\u2019s Merah Putih building in South\nJakarta, Thursday (June 4, 2026).<\/p>\n

Budi also explained that the case involving Silmy is related to the\nprocessing of immigration documents, which allegedly led to acts of\nextortion and gratification.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn this case, the charges are based on Article 12E related to the\nalleged corruption crime of extortion in the processing of immigration\ndocuments, as well as Article 12B or the acceptance of other benefits or\ngratification,\u201d said Budi.<\/p>\n

In this case, a total of eight people have been detained. One of them\nis the Deputy Minister of Immigration, Silmy Karim.<\/p>\n

    Budi explained that the eight individuals have been officially named\nas suspects. The designation as suspects is supported by sufficient\nevidence obtained by investigators.<\/p>\n

    \u201cBased on sufficient evidence, the KPK has also named eight people as\nsuspects out of a total of 18 people who were arrested in the sting\noperation,\u201d said Budi.<\/p>\n

    Budi said that the eight suspects were immediately detained. The\ndetention will be for the first 20 days at the KPK\u2019s Merah Putih\nbuilding detention center.<\/p>\n
